Green Pepper Shochu

This shochu is made from green peppers, a specialty of Miyazaki, and finished by decompressed distillation. In terms of weight conversion, about 10 peppers are used per bottle.

Preliminary mash: koji   Secondary mash: barley Third mash: green peppers      
Using Kawauchi white koji mold / Decompressed distillation 

Featuring the aroma of ripe green peppers, the flavor of this shochu combines hot spiciness with sweetness, resulting in a refreshingly sharp drinking sensation. Imbibed on the rocks or mixed with water (mizuwari), it pairs well with fatty or spicy food such as beef dishes and Chinese cuisine with thick sauces.
